The Great Alaskan Cruise
The Great Alaskan Cruise
When you are looking at choosing a holiday destination you’re not just looking for a getaway from the stress caused by everyday life you are looking for an experience and memories that will stay with you for a lifetime. Alaska holds the secret and with its breath-taking views and wildlife makes this frontier land more than a cruise destination...it is a voyage to treasure. Being a cruise there is no doubt of the spectacular marine wildlife you may encounter whilst visiting Alaska. North of the vast state leisurely surfacing above the water you may sight the giants that are 40 ton Humpback Whales. Or encounter seals and sea lions on floating bits of Glazier. More inland you can witness the freedom of the Denali Big Five, including Grizzly and Black bears, Moose’s, Gray Wolves, Caribou and Dall sheep. The whole time flying high above could be the magnificent bald eagle and at the shore puffins and red tailed hawks. With all the wildlife comes their habitat and Alaska defiantly has one to be proud of. The Glaciers are alive and constantly moving you can be looking at ice that is hundreds of years old in Glazier National park over 3 million acres big!!!! Some of the famous include the Hubbard Glacier over six miles wide and Tracey Arm Fjord and holds astounding waterfalls and steep canyon walls. To see these in the warmest months; June, July, and August, with temperatures generally around 50° to 80°F (10°-27°C) during the day and cooler at night. Or September which will paint your view with reds and oranges as the autumn foliage creates the perfect backdrop as the Grizzly’s and Moose’s wake up to an early morning mist. There are many routes to this paradise including a stunning ride through the Chicago Rocky Mountains or a stay in the city that never sleeps New York. Also situated on the shore of Puget Sound between two incredible mountain ranges - the snow-capped Olympics and the craggy Cascades - Seattle is surrounded by stunning natural beauty. A visit to Seattle is not complete without a taste of their excellent seafood. The diverse cruise ships allow you to tailor your journey to try out many local excursions including salmon fishing and helicopter flights over some of the most outstanding landmarks you cannot find this side of the pond!!
